I used to to sit back and ponder this ALOT.

As a bit of an overthinker and eager student I would study what others were doing to try and see if I could map out what makes some photogs become well known and stand out more than others.

Sure the quality of your photography is one thing, but there really are other elements that mean that one photographer can navigate to a successful business quicker than another with equal skills.
